As of 1 October, Idelette Rocha will join the Performing Arts Fund NL as secretary. She knows the sector from many perspectives: from behind the turntables to behind policy papers.
As Cultural Policy Advisor at the Municipality of Rotterdam, Idelette worked on nightlife and events policy, served as project secretary for multidisciplinary project grants, and was account manager for several cultural plan organisations.
Before that, she was active in the cultural field herself: she organised events in clubs in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, curated the content and festival programme of Rotterdam Pride, and performed as a DJ at stages such as Paris Fashion Week, the Rijksmuseum, and festivals throughout the Netherlands.
At the Performing Arts Fund NL, Idelette will focus as secretary – specialist in urban, talent development, and interdisciplinarity – on new and informal networks and will be responsible for the Urban Projects Scheme.
“I want to contribute to a cultural sector that truly reflects the full breadth of the field, including in places where you might not immediately expect it,” Idelette says about her move to the Fund.
With her wide-ranging experience, curiosity, and ability to connect, Idelette will contribute to the Fund’s mission to bring makers and audiences together. We look forward to working with her on the future of the performing arts.
