Internationalisation grants updated from 19 February
Do you work with international groups and are you planning to apply for funding within the Internationalisation grants? From 19 February, several changes will take effect that may be important for your plans and budget.
Voor Nederlands, hier
The Performing Arts Fund NL has been working for some time to ensure its grants better reflect professional practice. Until now, support for travel for performances between the European part and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands was not possible within the Internationalisation grants.

The Internationalisation grants consist of four grants. The conditions have been changed for two of them:

Both pages are available in Dutch on the Performing Arts Fund NL website. The Short-term Tour Funding grant can be read in English on the rijkscultuurfondsen.org website.
What has changed?
From the next application round, under Foreign performances or concerts in the Netherlands (Buitenlandse voorstellingen of concerten in Nederland – link leads to a Dutch-language page) you can also apply for funding for:

  • Performances and tours by groups travelling from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom to the European part of the Kingdom
  • Performances and tours by groups travelling from the European part of the Kingdom to Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius or Saba

Under Short-term Tour Funding, it is now also possible to apply for travel between Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
Travelling by plane
In addition, a new condition has been added to Short-term Tour Funding for sustainability reasons.

Flights will only be reimbursed for journeys of more than 600 kilometres (straight-line distance). If the distance is less than 600 kilometres and there is a good alternative, such as travelling by train or boat, the grant will in principle be refused if you still choose to travel by plane.
Next application round
The application portal for the next round of Foreign performances or concerts in the Netherlands (Buitenlandse voorstellingen of concerten in Nederland) opens on 19 February and closes on 1 April 2026. Are you planning to invite a group? Please take these changes into account in your plans and budget.

Short-term Tour Funding can be applied for throughout the year, as long as sufficient budget is available. These changes will also apply to Short-term Tour Funding from 19 February 2026.
